New Zealand huh?.....

New Zealand based fashion label Zambesi for Spring/Summer ‘08. The focus of the House is to "produce garments that may be worn and treasured over time."

Uncovered

Seriously why have I been ignoring something so close? I guess I always thought it was a little too kitschy, but I was mistaking it with comfort. I know have a newly-found semi-love of Chicago boutique Penelopes. Here's why:

Assembly NYC

A new friend told me about a new store today. Assembly New York.

I'm already looking forward to checking it out on my next NYC visit. They carry labels such as Endovanera (one of my current favorites), Corpus, Chronicles of Never, etc. I'm into the Solast stuff (pictured).

I don't know why, but I like this look. The long jacket and glasses might do it.

I was so close...

to going HERE this weekend, but only made it to HERE where I didn't find anything but some decent and-i stuff (like this one) that wasn't incredible enough to buy this trip. This was my first time upstairs though. Nice little Acne room, but again, no purchases. Maybe it was just a bad day to shop.

by fashion label Nom de Guerre and optical brand Oliver Peoples

who knew a boutique in Monmouth, Wales has some great stuff...

Top two are my favorites: Unconditional jumper and Sweatshirt by Sateyenkumar, a new menswear label launched in Paris last year.

The Swedish Jean

I don't know what it is about Swedish fashion right now. It seems like EVERYTHING exciting is pouring out of that country. They know style, and they're not afraid to be different. So now is your chance to catch on to the Swedish fashion craze, starting with your jeans.

Three hot labels come from the land of the blonde: ACNE Jeans, Filippa K, and Nudie Jeans. Although they've been in existence since the 90s, they are just gaining momentum in the US now. Acne and Nudie offer you unique but simple denim, and Filippa K can help round out the look.

Here's how to wear it:

Make a Small Change: Roll the bottoms of your Nudie jeans so they hit right above your ankles; sort of that Thom Brown look without the suit. Top it with a Filippa K white button up t-shirt (go ahead leave it untucked just this once) and pair it with boots by Acne. If you forgo the button-up shirt, opt for a t-shirt paired with a long trench instead.

Here are the pieces to make it happen:

Not Swedish, but another great option. Theory Trench.
